Eye Of The Tornado
As soon as I read this saying the obvious thing to me was placing an eye within a tornado. After creating the tornado swirl myself and placing the image of the eye in the picture, it seemed to need something more so I added the picture of the ocean into the middle of the eye - making it a calm and relaxing scene and placed a few flying objects on the outside making it seem crazy.
Better To Burn Out Than Fade Away
This was the last one I completed and was all out of ideas. So I decided I wanted a a bright burning photo close up and I would do something with that. Upon taking the photos at home I realised that with the flash on, you could barely see any of the flames and that the fire itsself appeared to be fading. So I took a few more pictures with the flash on and then some with the flash off which gave a real sense of the burning flames. I then decided to mix the two pictures together with a match dividing the two. One end burning intensely and one fading away.
A Stitch In Time Saves Nine
Searching for ideas, I suddenly remembered a scene from the Brady Bunch Movie where Carol is kidnapped and in turn creates a stitch work to communicate to a patron that she needs help. So i worked with this idea where a man has taken nine people hostage as you can see by the knife behind his back and is checking into a motel room. One of the girls has created a stitch work that says "home sweet help" instead of the common term "home sweet home" to try and get the message across to the office employee potentially saving the life of her and the other eight victims.
How The West Was Won
I was having trouble coming up with an idea and as I was listening to my Country music, I thought, why not do something based on that. Basically, many singers and performers competing for the 2010 title of the "Country and Western Music Awards" with the McClymont sisters winning the final vote and performing for the crowd. A different take on the saying but still creative.
Somewhere Over The Rainbow
After playing around with different pictures i'd taken I decided i'd really like to do something with a black and white background with only the rainbow coloured. After doing that, I realised it needed something more so I placed a picture of Tom and I standing in front of a pot of gold. Basically sticking to the tradition of the pot of gold that supposedly lives at the end of the rainbow.

Restaurant Menus
Number Three
Thyme2 is not so much interactive with it's menus, however it allows the audience to see what is being cooked and how it is done. The restaurant has scheduled times of interactive cooking daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Number Four
Not quite as interactive as the others, this menu contains dishes from all over the world. Not only that but it allows customers to send in their own personal recipes on the restaurant's website along with a photo of the finished product and if the chefs like it, they put it up as their weekly special, they also have a video playing, presenting how the dish is made with drop down speakers that can be heard overhead - and while customers are waiting to order they can view the meal and decide if it's what they're after or not.
Number Five
The new technology here is used to make wine approachable but not dumb it down. The interactive wine menu allows people to explore all aspects of wine with a new touch screen type experience.

New Technology
Number One
Start from scratch, add your own design and pick up to 18 button functions and you have youself the 18 button remote.
Number Two
What is it? Gesture recognition is a simple idea that is just making it's way into consumer electronics. The set idea is to create a camera, for example a webcam, to watch the user and reac to the persom's hand signals - sort of like a Nintendo Wii but without the remote.
Number Three
'So Touch Presetation' is a new technology that allows the creation of multi-touch presenttions and makes them interesting for th audience watching.
Number Four
The PLL-32 is a 32-channel wirless mic system which features a built-in LCD and controls on the mic tnasmitter. Frequencies can be selected from the transmitter as well as the reciever. It is said to provide high quality signal clarity due to it's phase-locked loop technology with diversity, UHF band operation and built-in noise squelch circuitry.
Number Five
Coloured bubbles :) Probably not a new technology but still, intriguing.

Researching
As I was exploring the webiste 'Lost At E Minor,' I stumbled across a very interesting artist, Guido Daniele, who paints art, but unlike most artists he creates his art works on his hands. For example:
More of his work can be found here.

"Los Corazones" for Zune Arts by 72andSunny
Ok, so I don't really know much about this one, except that I really like it and that it's an ad for the product "Zune." It's combined as a website, video, both 2D and 3D animation, with use of sound again. The beginning of the video is very gloomy, with just a plain back section continuing into the red mouth with razor sharp teeth belonging to a scary bat. The majority is in 3D, however the section of the splitting hearts is seen in 2D. This is an interesting effect as we generally see one or the other. The music used combined with the movements of the well-recognised 'Fusion Dance' and the setting of the piece makes the ad eye-catching and trys to communicate to the audience the meaning. It seems it has something to do with a 'share' application on the device, but really i'm not sure as both creatures die in the end.
Michelin "Saddest Road" by Psyop
Michelin "Saddest Road" by Psyop is a form of website, animation, video, along with sound all combined. It's supposed to advertise a brand of car tires that will stop 14 feet shorter than any other tire and the voice over helps portray this. It also gives it a movie advertisment-like feel which is interesting in itself. I enjoyed this video mainly because I was attracted to the different uses of colour, the shape and texture of the animals, and also, the rainforest setting. I was intrigued by the simple contrast from dark and rainy to light and sunny and I believed it to be a great way to advertise.

Get the Glass
So I just played this game called "Get the Glass." And to put it bluntly, i sucked at it!
On a positive note, I really enjoyed it. It was an effective way to promote a product, very fast moving.
The use of the contrasting colours help to set a scene as to how you were progressing through the game with the lighter and darker settings.
The graphics seemed almost life like which was really intriguing for me as it was unexpected for a game that was created a while ago.
I found the driving section a bit of a challenge with the mouse, especially having to hold it so far infront of the van, perhaps the use of arrow keys would have helped. None the less, after the many tries I had, I got the hang of it.
Overall, quite an outstanding and attention grabbing game.
